A cross-border traveller is facing a hefty fine for allegedly trying to take cannabis and a prohibited handgun across the Blue Water Bridge.
Canada Border Services Agency officers (CBSA) recently seized a prohibited handgun, a knife, and about 10 kilograms of cannabis.
One person was charged under the Customs Act and fined $41,667.

CBSA recently showed off some of the equipment and resources used when searching vehicles as more weapons and drugs were seized at the Blue Water Bridge over the last year.
Although cannabis is legal in Canada and Michigan, it is illegal to take it across the border.
