The Sarnia Sting opened up a three-game road trip with a 4-2 comeback win over Peterborough Thursday night.
Nolan Burke scored the game-winning goal late in the third period, Christian Kyrou scored his third goal in seven games with Sarnia, and netminder Ben Gaudreau made 26 saves in his return from the World Juniors.
After a scoreless first period, the Petes took a 2-0 lead on goals at 7:53 and 10:38 of the middle frame. Kyrou got Sarnia on the board with a power play marker at 17:28 to make it 2-1 after 40 minutes.
Midway through third period, with the Sting on their second power play, Marko Sikic evened the game at twos with his seventh goal of the season.
Just over four minutes later, at 14:34, Burke fired home his team-leading 24th goal of the year to give Sarnia their first lead of the game.
Cooper Way scored an empty-netter at 19:17 to seal the win, Sarnia's third straight of the new year.
