St. Clair Township fire crews extinguished a blaze on Tuesday at the former Lambton Generating Station site.
Firefighters were called to 1886 St. Clair Parkway just before noon.
Chief Richard Boyes said while demolition workers were cutting pipes on an old tank structure, a rubber line and some fibre glass was set on fire.
Crews were on scene for a couple of hours, and used their aerial truck to put out the fire.
Boyes said there were no injuries, and no dollar loss to report since the structure was already being torn down.
