The Sarnia Sting's comeback from a 10-0 loss against the Flint Firebirds fell short after a 6-5 loss on Friday.
The Firebirds (16-9-2-1) moved three points ahead of the Sting (13-9-4-2) in the OHL’s West Division.
“We played pretty good controlling the play,” said Nolan Burke, who scored a goal after missing the previous seven games with an injury. “I thought we just gave way too many Grade A breakdowns to give them chances to score. Obviously that needs to stop because if we’re playing good defensively, then that game should be 5-2, 5-3.”

“We need to go down tomorrow and just compete and play our game and then steal two points in their home barn,” said Porter Martone.
The Sting will complete their three-game weekend by hosting the Peterborough Petes on Sunday.
