Annual United Way campaign inching toward 50 per cent mark

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way is nearing a pivotal point in the campaign.

Resource Development Manager Hollie Millholland said so far they've raised $770,000, or 47 per cent of their $1.65 million needs target.

She said they're hoping to hit the 50 per cent mark within the next week or so with the help of some big employee campaigns and fundraisers.

"INEOS Styrolution and Pembina just wrapped up their campaigns and we also have Dow that's just kicking off this week so that should help," said Millholland. "We've also got our Frozen Dinner Take Out underway with the Dante Club so you can preorder those on our website www.theunitedway.on.ca."

Millholland said about 1,500 people have already contributed to this year's fundraising effort.

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 17 local agencies providing over 31 programs and services in three target areas, From Poverty to Possibility, All That Kids Can Be and Health People-Strong Communities.
