Imperial and Forests Ontario partnership hopes for a big impact

Imperial and Forests Ontario are aiming to make Ontario greener.

They've teamed up to launch a new campaign, which will see 25,000 trees planted in southern Ontario, the equivalent of 136 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

In a joint news release, Imperial said #SproutingImpact is fueled by the company's commitment to help create healthy, new forests to support land conservation and biodiversity in Ontario communities.

Imperial will be offering complimentary seedlings to the public. They will be available on Friday, October 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 121 Indian Road South and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 600 Murphy Road in Sarnia.

Forests Ontario and Imperial will also Northern High School to educate students about the importance of #SproutingImpact and hand out seedlings.

The public is encouraged to plant their young trees and tag @Forests.Ontario and @ImperialOilLimited on Facebook.
