City police pleased with town hall turnout

Members of the community offered their thoughts and thanks to members of the Sarnia Police Service Wednesday night.

Over 60 concerned residents, representatives from community organizations and individuals running for Sarnia council shared their key priorities for the service during the final in a series of town hall sessions at Pat Stapleton Arena.

An increase in violent crimes, theft, homelessness and addiction, increased patrols and dealing with repeat offenders were just some of the areas of concern brought forward to police.

The Sarnia Police Service will use the information gathered from the public input meetings to develop a new three-year business plan.

For those who were unable to attend one of the recent sessions, you can email your thoughts to [email protected].

Police services across Ontario are required to prepare a business plan at least every three years.
