OPP warn equipment stolen in Point Edward may pose safety issue

Lambton OPP have issued an advisory saying equipment stolen from a construction vehicle in Point Edward Friday morning, poses a public safety issue.

Officers were contacted regarding an overnight theft from a vehicle on Mara Street at 5:30 a.m.

Police said an Instrotek Xplorer 3500 was among the items taken.

The device is used to measure the density of asphalt and contains hazardous components if tampered with.

OPP are asking residents who may locate the device, not to disturb the item, and contact police promptly.
