Sarnia police have arrested a 25-year-old city woman following a drug trafficking investigation.
On Monday, August 29, vice unit officers were conducting surveillance in the area of Cambridge Crescent and Dukinfield Court.
It's alleged the accused was seated in a vehicle with a bong in her lap and what appeared to be either cocaine or methamphetamine in the pipe.
Police said the suspect initially resisted but officers were able to remove her from the vehicle and take her into custody. The vehicle was also uninsured and not supposed to be on the road.
During a search, police allegedly seized 33.65 grams of fentanyl, 50.53 grams of methamphetamine, 13.54 grams of cocaine, three codeine pills, and $1,670 in Canadian currency.
The total street value of the drugs seized is just over $13,000.
Veronica Monique Ayala is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule one substance, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, and operating a motor vehicle on a highway with no insurance.
She was being held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
