UPDATE: Heavy rainfall stirs up bacteria at local beaches

Lambton Public Health detected high levels of E. Coli at Grand Bend's main beaches, as well as Canatara Park and Bright's Grove on Tuesday.

The health unit announced the areas were unsafe for swimming.

High levels of bacteria is a normal occurrence after heavy rainfall.

Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued for the region on Monday.

An update posted on Wednesday said the Grand Bend beaches and Bright's Grove Beach were no longer posted.
