Parents and caregivers with young children are now able to book COVID-19 vaccinations for them.
Eligibility has been expanded to those six months to five-years-old.
Health Protection Manager at Lambton Public Health Chad Ikert said there are about 5,700 local children in that age group.
He said there are several options available for parents who wish to vaccinate their children.
"Appointments can be booked online from Lambton Public Health at www.getthevaccine.ca," said Ikert "For those requiring assistance with booking, they can contact our call centre at 226-254-8222, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m."
Parents can also book appointments at participating pharmacies and primary care providers.
The pediatric Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is a slightly modified, lower dose than that given to kids six and up.
"So parents and caregivers who do have questions about the vaccine and whether they should vaccinate their child or not are encouraged to speak with their health care provider," said Ikert.
Ikert said appointments are still available for adults looking to book either their first, second or booster doses.
Also starting Thursday, immunocompromised individuals between 12 and 17 years old are now eligible to book a second booster, or fifth dose, at a recommended interval of six months after their first booster shot.
