A Sarnia man faces drug trafficking charges after city police seized meth, fentanyl, painkillers, and cash Saturday night.
At around 11:30 p.m., officers were looking for the suspect on Vidal Street near Kenny Street regarding an outstanding warrant related to previous drug charges. The 44-year-old man was located and taken into custody without incident.
Police said the suspect was allegedly in possession of 7.8 grams of purple coloured fentanyl, 7.1 grams of methamphetamine, 17 pills of hydromorphone, and over $1,000 in currency.
As a result, the accused faces two counts of failing to comply with a release order and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
