Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton will be out in the community, collecting empties for a Bottle Drive Blitz.
Empty bottles and cans can be dropped off at various locations throughout the day Friday and Saturday. The collection started Friday morning at Trinity Anglican Church. A list of drop-off locations can be found below.
Trevor Taylor said Habitat for Humanity collects bottles throughout the year but during this weekend, they'll be stationed outside of various locations.
"The cool thing about anything donated to Habitat, is 100 per cent of all money raised stays local," said Taylor. "Another thing, is it actually goes towards building homes."
Bottles and cans can also be dropped off at the ReStore on Saturday during the organization's annual charity BBQ from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Hot dogs and hamburgers will cost $2 or patrons can add chips and a drink for $5.
Taylor said there will also be an inflatable basketball game for the kids and a customer appreciation 50 per cent off sale at the ReStore, located on London Line in Sarnia.
