Community members interested in supporting Lambton College students during the upcoming fall term are invited to the school for a housing information session.
An informal meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 21 in the Athletics and Fitness Complex at Lambton College. Residents can drop by anytime between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Director of Marketing, Communications and Brand Management Diana Forbes said the session is a new approach for the school as communication with potential landlords is typically done over email.
"The community really opens their arms and it's just about getting the word out to make sure that they understand the process and how they can become part of the Lambton College family," said Forbes.
The in-person information session will also allow community members the opportunity to speak with students and meet past or present landlords.
"There's a lot of benefits to becoming a landlord or being part of the Lambton College community," said Forbes. "It's a source of income for those people who may have space in their homes and an opportunity to be part of our community and share in our students' success and goals."
Forbes said some landlords even attended the college's convocation ceremony held earlier this month to show support for students.
For those unable to attend Tuesday's information session, another is scheduled to take place on July 6.
