An early morning craving turned into an impaired driving charge for a Sarnia man accused of hitting another vehicle outside of a fast food restaurant.
Sarnia police received word of a crash off London Road near Murphy Road at around 2 a.m. Friday. The suspect vehicle left the area but not before its description and licence plate was forwarded to the police.
Police were then called to Bright Street where the two vehicles involved in the crash were located -- the vehicle that was struck had attended the area and nosed-up to the suspect vehicle to block it in.
The investigating officer reported signs of impairment from the suspect and open cans of alcohol in his vehicle. The 22-year-old was then arrested and transported to police headquarters where he blew over twice the legal limit.
The man's licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days. He has a court date set of next month.
