The Sarnia Sting gave up a late third period goal in the club's 4-3 loss in Guelph Friday night.
The Storm scored three straight goals in the third period, including the game-winner on the power play with just 11 seconds on the clock.
Guelph opened the scoring 12 minutes into the game, a short handed goal by Jake Karabela. The Storm outshot Sarnia 11 to 5 in the first period and led 1-0 heading into the second.
Sting forward Marko Sikic scored against his former team at 10:08 on the power play to even the score at ones. Sarnia scored another goal with the man advantage at 12:54, the first of two from Nolan Dann -- he then made it 3-1 at 19:25, the Sting's third power play goal of the period. Sarnia outshot Guelph 15 to 5 in the middle frame.
Storm forward Matthew Poitras scored at 11:01 on the power play, then again at 12:59, tying the game at threes. Guelph's Braeden Bowman completed the comeback at 19:49 with Sikic in the penalty box.
Sting goaltender Anson Thornton made 28 saves in his third straight start. Jacob Oster turned away 22 shots in the Storm's net.
The loss drops Sarnia to 24-26-3-1 on the season. The club is two points ahead of Erie for the final playoff spot in the OHL's Western Conference.
The Sting are back in action Sunday afternoon when they host the London Knights -- coverage on CHOK (1070 AM/103.9 FM) begins at 1:30 p.m.
