All Canadian line-up announced for Bluewater BorderFest

Canadian talent will be highlighted this summer in Sarnia.

Bluewater BorderFest organizers announced the full line-up Tuesday morning for the outdoor concert series at Centennial Park.

Organizer, and Tourism Sarnia Lambton Executive Director Mark Perrin said the three day event kicks off with The Tea Party and Sam Roberts Band on Thursday, June 23.

"We want headliners on the show and if we can get two headliners on each show that's always a great goal," said Perrin. "They'll both play full 90 minute sets to give people great entertainment that we've all been missing."

Marianas Trench will co-headline with Alessia Cara on Friday, June 24.

"The last time she played in Canada she toured with Shawn Mendes and they sold out the Rogers Centre in Toronto together right before the pandemic," said Perrin. "Took a lot of work to nail it down, but we love the messaging that she has, really empowers women with her music and we wanted to bring that to Sarnia for everyone to see that live on display."

Sloan will join the previously announced Our Lady Peace and Finger Eleven on Saturday, June 25.

Perrin said the event has already garnered attention across the globe.

"We've got tickets on Saturday night sold from as far away as Australia already, and Anchorage, Alaska, a lot of people coming to Sarnia for this one, and we've officially dubbed it from the Canadian Music Association, Canada's Summer Kick Off Concert," he said. "We deserve live music, it's been a long two years and we want to party and kick off the summer together, here in Sarnia."

Tickets for the latest musical acts go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. online at www.BluewaterBorderFest.ca
