Libraries, museums, and art galleries in Lambton County will once again open their doors to the public this week.
The Mooretown Library and Sarnia Library Theatre will reopen with limited capacity on Tuesday, February 1. The Lambton Heritage Museum, Lambton County Archives, Oil Museum of Canada, and Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery will reopen the following day on February 2.
The County of Lambton said all 25 library locations will continue to offer curbside pickup service as in-person services resume. Public computer use will also be available by scheduled appointment.
At the Sarnia Library, the 306-seat theatre space located on the second floor will also reopen for community use. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the theatre's capacity limit is set at 153.
The event space is available to rent by individuals and organizations, under guidelines that can be found on the library theatre's website.
Meanwhile, Lambton County Library will host a concert series in March and April. Rhythms of Lambton will showcase the region's musical history while artifacts are placed on display in the theatre’s lobby.
As for the county's museums and galleries, patrons have been asked to pre-book their visits online.
The Lambton Heritage Museum, Lambton County Archives, Oil Museum of Canada, and Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery will operate on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Patrons may be surprised to see improvements made to the Oil Museum of Canada. February 2 marks the first time the museum will welcome visitors since undergoing an extensive renovation.
