Slight change reported in COVID-19 hospitalizations

Slight decreases have been reported in the number of local COVID-19 hospitalizations and active lab-confirmed cases.

Bluewater Health is caring for 39 COVID-positive patients, which is down from 41 reported on Friday. Four patients who have tested positive for the virus are in intensive care.

In its daily update, Lambton Public Health reported 81 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday as well as 107 resolved cases. The number of active cases has decreased to 400.

The health unit has reported a total of 8,759 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region since the beginning of the pandemic. There have also been a total of 8,252 resolved cases.

The number of COVID-19 outbreaks in the community remains unchanged at 13. The local death toll also remains at 107.
