UPDATE: Suspicious package at NOVA posed no danger

Provincial police have concluded their investigation at NOVA Chemicals' Corunna site on Petrolia Line after a suspicious package posed no danger.

Lambton OPP and members of the St. Clair Township Fire Department were called to the facility Wednesday morning at 10:45 a.m.

Cst. Jamie Bydeley said appropriate safety precautions had already been taken by the business by the time officers arrived.

Members of the OPP's Explosive Disposal Unit and Canine Explosive Detection Dog, Celaena, went to the facility as part of the investigation.

OPP issued a public notice over Twitter about the investigation Wednesday afternoon around 1:33 p.m.

An update shortly after 5 p.m. said resources have been cleared and roads remained open during the investigation.
