Significant amount of cocaine seized from vehicle, hotel room

Sarnia police are reporting the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine following a traffic stop in the central part of the city.

On December 3, officers with the Vice Unit allegedly observed a suspected drug transaction between the suspects and other parties.

Police then pulled over the suspect vehicle just before 2 p.m. in the area of Maxwell Street and Nelson Street.

Officers executed a drug search warrant at a local hotel where the suspects were staying.

A search of the suspects and room turned up a total of 187.62 grams of cocaine with a street value of $18,762, and $3,590 in currency.

Jaivon Nathaniel Prince-Skyers, 25, of Barrie faces one count of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts failing to comply with a release order.

He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from the City of Barrie for two counts of possession of a schedule one substance, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, breach of recognizance, breach of probation, and failing to attend court.

James C. Armstrong, 42, of Sarnia faces one count of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Armstrong was released with his first appearance in court scheduled for January 19, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., at the Sarnia courthouse.

Prince-Skyers was still in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
