Lambton Public Health is urging those who attended a protest in Bright's Grove earlier this week to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms after an attendee tested positive for the virus.
The protest, which focused on vaccines and youth, took place on Wednesday at Mike Weir Park between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
“The individual was contagious at the event, and indicated they had a lot of conversations with fellow protestors unmasked for greater than 15 minutes,” said Supervisor of Health Protection Lori Lucas. “They also noted that physical distancing was not being observed."
Those who attended the protest and are now feeling unwell are asked to get tested.
Those who have symptoms or those at high-risk of contracting the virus due to close contact with confirmed cases may access Public Assessment Centres by appointment. Further details can be found on the public health unit's website.
Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, difficulty breathing, muscle aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat, and runny nose.
