Suspended driver allegedly caught with fentanyl

A suspended driver who was allegedly caught behind the wheel is also facing drug-related charges after provincial police seized suspected fentanyl.

Lambton County OPP said officers spotted a vehicle "making multiple traffic infractions" on Chiefs Road North at 10 p.m. on August 27.

The driver, a 36-year-old Walpole Island First Nation resident, was arrested.

During a search of the vehicle, officers seized "a quantity" of suspected fentanyl and other controlled substances. As a result, the driver was charged with traffic in schedule 1 substance and driving while under suspension.
