No charges laid in fatal pedestrian collision

Sarnia police say no charges will be laid following a fatal pedestrian collision earlier this month.

A collision involving a pedestrian was reported on Tashmoo Avenue, just south of Churchill Road on August 20. Police said a southbound vehicle struck a pedestrian who was lying in the roadway.

The deceased was later identified as 37-year-old Joel Burton Williams.

Officers issued a final update on the investigation Tuesday as members of the Criminal Investigation Branch and Traffic Unit completed its investigation.
