Ship hits Suncor dock

No injuries were reported after a cargo vessel struck the Suncor dock Sunday.

The Bluewater Association for Safety Environment and Sustainability (BASES) said a third party cargo vessel hit the north dock just after 12:15 p.m.

There were no leaks to the St. Clair River reported, and the company is conducting inspections on the dock to assess and confirm the structure's integrity.

As a precaution, Suncor deployed an oil boom downstream of the dock.

Appropriate regulators and communities have been notified of the incident.
