The Imperial Theatre's 50/50 fundraiser continues to be a hit as the jackpot reached over $120,000 for a sixth month in a row.
Josie Greydanus won the July draw and was handed a cheque for $121,295.
Executive Director Brian Austin said as of August 3, the theatre has given away $1,497,310 in prizes.
Success from the fundraiser has also helped fund capital projects.
"We are able to move forward with renovating the men's washroom in the main lobby, and we are fully upgrading all of the amenities in the upstairs washrooms," read a media release. "Other projects such as the [fifth] and final phase of the roof replacement will be completed over the summer."
The July draw supported upgrades to the auditorium, such as new seats, new paint, new flooring, and a state-of-the-art public address (PA) speaker system. The theatre plans to have the auditorium work done over the summer and into early fall.
Other projects in the works are expected to cost over $300,000.
This month's draw is allocated toward theatrical lighting equipment upgrades, orchestra pit enhancements, live streaming equipment, and other physical upgrades to the building.
The August draw is currently underway and will run until August 29 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced over Facebook Live on August 30 at 10 a.m.
Tickets for the 50/50 draw can be purchased online. Tickets are priced at three for $10, 40 for $20, and 200 for $40.
