UPDATE: Possibility for severe thunderstorms ended

Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings have ended in Sarnia-Lambton.

Environment Canada said conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms, capable of producing strong wind gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour, large hail and heavy rain.

A severe thunderstorm watch was upgraded to a warning at around 7 a.m. Thursday for Sarnia-Lambton. The warning was later downgraded back to a watch at 10:20 a.m. The watch later ended around 10:44 a.m.

The national weather agency said there's still uncertainty in the intensity and track of the storms and forecasters will continue to monitor the situation.

Motorists are advised to watch for ponding on area roads.
