Sarnia firefighters unveil brand new truck

Sarnia Fire and Rescue has a new set of wheels.

A brand new aerial tower truck arrived at the Wellington Street fire hall on Wednesday.

Fire Life Safety Educator Mike Otis said 'Tower 2' can reach 95 feet in the air, pump 8,000 litres of water per minute, and will help the department serve the city for years to come.

Sarnia City Council approved the purchase of the nearly $1.4 million truck in March, replacing one that is over 20-years-old.

Firefighters will be training on the new piece of equipment over the next week or so, before it officially goes into service.
