OPP nab two alleged drunk drivers

A 22-year-old from Warwick is facing impaired driving and speeding charges after being clocked at over 125 kilometres an hour in an 80 zone.

Lambton OPP stopped a vehicle on Highway 40 in St. Clair Township at around 1 a.m. Saturday, July 10.

Police allege the driver failed a roadside screening test. He was then transported to the OPP detachment where he provided two breath samples over the legal limit.

The suspect has a court date set for next August.

A 59-year-old from St. Clair Township is charged with impaired driving after police spotted a vehicle with a burnt-out lamp last Thursday.

Lambton OPP pulled over a vehicle on St. Clair Parkway at around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 8.

Police say a roadside screening device was administered after it became apparent the driver had consumed alcohol. The suspect was transported to the OPP detachment where they provided two breath samples over the legal limit.

OPP remind residents that if you see a suspected impaired driver, call police or Crime Stoppers.
