Active COVID cases nearing single digits in SL

The number of active COVID cases in Sarnia-Lambton is down six over the past 24 hours.

Lambton Public Health reported two new confirmed cases and eight more resolved Tuesday morning, bringing the active count to 11.  Active outbreaks are still at one.

Active infections hit 243 in March, and the community's cases per 100,000 population topped out at 160 in the same month.  Last week's incident rate was 30.5, and new daily cases haven't been above 10 since May 28.

There have been 3,614 total cases, 3,541 resolved and 62 COVID-related deaths reported during the pandemic.

Bluewater Health is reporting three COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Monday.
