Fewer active COVID-19 cases reported in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has dropped by three cases to 25.

Lambton Public Health reported three new cases of the virus on Saturday. There have been a total of 3,608 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.

The health unit also reported six more recoveries, bringing the number of total resolved cases up to 3,521.

One active outbreak remains at Afton Park Place and the death toll is unchanged at 62.

Bluewater Health has moved to a Monday to Friday reporting schedule and will not provide updates on weekends. However, weekend updates will ramp up again if deemed necessary.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
