Rebound Camaro raffle raises $86K

A Sarnia man who won a brand new Chevy Camaro, won't be hard to spot when he's cruising around the city.

Aaron Ellenor is the winner of a bright yellow "Shock" coloured Camaro that was raffled off by Sarnia-Lambton Rebound.

“I can’t believe it," said Ellenor. "I joked with my co-workers that I was going to win, and then I got the call.  I was blown away."

Rebound's first ever "Win A Car" raffle brought in a net profit of $86,000 for the organization after it sold all 1,500 raffle tickets in just over two months.

Fund Development Coordinator Anita Minielly said the team at MacFarlane Chevrolet Buick GMC was a great fundraising partner.

"This first time raffle went over extremely well – thanks to social media, we had people from all across Ontario purchasing tickets, but we’re thrilled both prizes stayed local.”

Sarnia's Joan Armstrong took home the second place prize of $2,500.

All money raised will help support general programming costs that do not receive any government funding, such as Rebound Rocks, the r.Lounge, The HUB and Spectrum – LGBTQ2S+.
