Find my iPhone app helps OPP pinpoint suspect

Lambton OPP tracked down a suspect over the weekend using an app that pinpoints an iPhone's location.

Officers were contacted Saturday morning, around 10:45 a.m., by an individual whose cell phone and shoes were stolen from the main beach in Grand Bend.

The owner had installed the "Find my iPhone" app, so all they had to do was log into the cloud to track down the device.

A 70-year-old London man was taken into custody and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court at a later date.
