Traffic stop leads to $15K drug seizure

Sarnia police officers seized about $15,000 worth of illegal drugs in a traffic stop Saturday night.

Just after 11:15 p.m., police received a traffic complaint about a vehicle swerving all over the road, into oncoming traffic and hitting the curbs, in the area of Indian Road and Exmouth Street.

Police located the vehicle, and female driver, in the area of Indian Road and Confederation Street.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and officers also determined she had an arrest warrant for breach of probation, and her licence had been suspended due to unpaid fines.

During a search of the suspect, it's alleged officers seized 11.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 20.6 grams of suspected fentanyl and 19 micro-dots of suspected LSD.

Lynette Elaine Brennan, 34, of London is charged with impaired operation of a vehicle by drugs, two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of trafficking, and driving while under suspension.

She's scheduled to appear in Sarnia court in July.
