Residents will have to wait a little longer before they can cross the border into the U.S.
Non-essential travel restrictions between Canada and the U.S. have been extended for another month, until June 21. Restrictions were scheduled to expire on Friday, May 21.
Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair made the announcement Thursday morning.
We are extending travel restrictions on non-essential international travel and with the United States until June 21st, 2021. We will continue to base our decisions on the best public health advice available to keep Canadians safe from #COVID19.

Travelers who do cross into Canada by land are still required to quarantine upon arrival.
The Ontario government has been pushing the federal government to implement mandatory hotel quarantines for land travelers just as air-travelers are required to.
