Body pulled from St. Clair River believed to be an American

A body was pulled from the St. Clair River Sunday morning north of Fawn Island.

The Lambton OPP Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Service, and detachment officers responded at 8:30 a.m.

Police said a body had been found by a fisherman and brought ashore at Port Lambton. They said an autopsy has been conducted and the death has been deemed non-suspicious at this time.

The identity of the deceased is still pending but investigators have reason to believe the individual is a resident of the United States.

Anyone with information about the investigation, is asked to contact Lambton OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
