There was a decline in Sarnia-Lambton’s COVID-19 incidence rate last week, from the previous report.
Lambton Public Health is reporting a rate of 142 per 100,000 population from March 21 to 27, down from 160 the week before. The positivity rate dropped to 3.3 per cent from 3.7 per cent.
The health unit reported another 12 cases Wednesday, bringing the total to 2,835. There were no additional deaths and recoveries went up 21 to 2,606, lowering the active case count by eight to 179.
A total of 122 cases have screened positive for a Variant of Concern, up 23 from Tuesday. Of those, 63 have screened positive for the U.K. variant with results of the other screens still pending.
Active outbreaks are down one over the past 24 hours to 12.
Bluewater Health has seven COVID-positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Tuesday.
Public health reported that immunizations locally, as of Wednesday, have increased to 23,042 Wednesday, including 1,545 second doses, 20 per cent of the eligible population.
