Free coffee for truckers at Blue Water Bridge Tuesday

Truck drivers are being thanked at the Blue Water Bridge Tuesday for their unrelenting service during the pandemic.

The Sarnia Elks Lodge has partnered with the Bridge Coffee Lodge Duty-Free Shop to give the essential workers free large coffees.

Secretary Donna Clendenning said the drivers have stepped up during these very stressful times.

"They are getting food and all the stuff that we need to continue our life in this pandemic, so it's just a special day that we wanted to make them feel a little bit more appreciated than what they already are," said Clendenning.

She said the club only has ten members, but likes to help out wherever possible.

"I always have the phrase that we are small, but mighty. We do a lot of good work in the community. Most of our projects we support each year, but we have been at a standstill during the past year and we hope the community can soon start to feel safe again and everybody can start to get involved, making Sarnia-Lambton the great place it always has been."

Clendenning said the coffee will be distributed during the Bridge Coffee Lodge hours, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
