UPDATE: Driver flees after pole snapped on Churchill Line

A section of Churchill Line in Plympton-Wyoming was closed Monday morning after a vehicle hit a hydro pole.

Lambton OPP and Petrolia firefighters responded to the intersection of Churchill Line and Marthaville Road at around 4 a.m.

Police closed the road between Camlachie Road and Plowing Match Road and said there was no access from Marthaville Road.

They said the driver fled the area.

The road was reopened around 2 p.m.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
