Sarnia-Lambton's health unit reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday morning.
Lambton Public Health has reported a total of 2,586 cases of the virus since last March.
The number of resolved cases is up 27 over the past 24 hours to 2,316, and the death-toll of 47 is unchanged.
The number of active cases is down six at 223, including five people in hospital.
The number of active outbreaks is at 14, an increase of one from the previous report.
On Sunday, the health unit said a staff member at Fairwinds Lodge Retirement Residence in Sarnia recently tested positive.
“The individual who tested positive has been notified of their result,” said Chad Ikert, Manager of Health Protection for Lambton Public Health. “LPH is continuing to conduct case and contact management as part of the investigation. All necessary testing is underway".
A long-term care or other communal living setting outbreak is declared when one or more COVID-19 cases is lab-confirmed in a staff member or resident with possible exposure to others in the setting.
