Sarnia-Lambton is under a cold alert.
Lambton's Medical Officer of health issued the alert with the temperature forecast to drop to minus 17 C, 1 F, Tuesday night.
Residents are advised to limit their time outdoors and dress in layers, shielding exposed areas from the wind including your head, neck and face.
Lambton Public Health (LPH) said overexposure to cold temperatures can be hazardous and can lead to frostbite and hypothermia.
Local agencies providing shelter and assistance to the homeless are advised to prepare for an increase in demand.
The alert is expected to remain in effect until Wednesday morning.
