Sarnia's Native Friendship Centre hosted its annual Women's Memorial on Sunday.
The purpose was to remember and honour Indigenous women and girls who are missing or have died as a result of economic, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual violence.

There was a flag raising at noon at the Lochiel Street facility, followed by a walk that began after a brief ceremony.
The Women's Interval Home also participated by lining Oxford Street at around noon, holding red dress decals as a show of support.
Others were encouraged to walk in their own neighbourhoods to bring awareness to the issue.
During the week of February 14 to 20, events at the Native Friendship Centre are dedicated to Indigenous women.
According to Stats Canada, Indigenous women and girls make up five percent of Canada’s female population but they accounted for 23 percent of all women and girls murdered in Canada between 2012 to 2018.
