City of Sarnia COVID outbreak declared over

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared over at the Corporation of the City of Sarnia.

Lambton Public Health declared the outbreak December 29 after five employees tested positive for the virus.

Human resources spokesperson Dale Mosley said the city will continue to implement extra health and safety measures to prevent the virus from spreading among staff and throughout the community.

He said some employees continue to work from home temporarily, and various locations will continue to receive deep cleaning.

Sarnia City Hall remains closed.

Some staff have been working from home since December 19, when two employees tested positive.

Residents who need to get in contact with staff can contact customer service via email at [email protected] or by filling out an online form.

Residents who call customer service are asked to leave a voicemail so that staff can respond during business hours.
