Grand Bend pot store gets green light

The first of many proposed cannabis stores in Sarnia-Lambton has been approved and is now open.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) website says The Bend Cannabis Company has been authorized to operate at 19 Main Street W in Grand Bend.

It's the only application approved in Lambton County so far, according to the website.

Another application in Grand Bend, for True North Cannabis on Ontario St., remains in progress.

There are a total of 13 proposed pot shops in the City of Sarnia, but none have been approved yet.

The latest application is for Shiny Bud at 680 Cathcart Boulevard, Unit C.

A pair of stores are also in the "in progress" stage in Petrolia.
