A freezing rain warning has been issued by Environment Canada for Sarnia-Lambton.
Precipitation is forecast to begin as snow or ice pellets Friday afternoon before changing over to freezing rain by early evening mixed with ice pellets or rain at times.
The freezing rain should transition to snow or rain overnight.
This precipitation is associated with a low pressure system moving north from Texas which will track near the south shore of Lake Erie tonight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
