Fatal fire deemed accidental

A fatal fire in Sarnia last week has been deemed accidental.

On December 23, Sarnia Fire and Rescue, Sarnia police and Lambton EMS responded to a structure fire at about 12:30 p.m. on Stuart Street.

Public Education Officer Mike Otis said a 53-year-old man was removed from the home and pronounced dead at the scene. His name will not be released.

Fire officials say damage to the building was significant.

The investigation is concluded.
