Lambton OPP charge three drivers with impaired or possession of drugs

On December 23rd Lambton OPP received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Nauvoo Road in Brooke-Alvinston.

While attempting to locate the vehicle Lambton OPP were advised the vehicle had lost its front tire and the vehicle continued to travel southbound on Nauvoo.

Police located the vehicle on Nauvoo Road, south of Alvinston.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver was displaying signs of impairment.

The officer determined the driver was under the influence of a drug.

The driver was arrested and was transported to the Lambton OPP detachment and performed a drug recognition evaluation. During the search incident to arrest, police located suspected Fentanyl inside the vehicle.

A 27-year-old male from Brooke-Alvinston was charged with impaired driving and possession of drugs.

On Christmas Day at approximately 8:20 p.m. Lambton OPP received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Plank Road in St. Clair Township.

While patrolling to locate the vehicle, Lambton OPP members were advised the suspect vehicle had struck a hydro pole on Plank Road, east of Brigden Road.

Lambton OPP members attended the location of the collision and upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and was transported to the Lambton OPP detachment.

During the search incident to arrest, police located suspected Fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

A 25-year-old female from Sarnia has been charged with possession of drugs.

Lambton OPP is continuing to investigate to determine the cause of the collision.

On Boxing Day Lambton OPP responded to a possible impaired driver on Petrolia line in Enniskillen Township.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage, at which time a roadside screening device was administered.

A reading of "FAIL" was determined. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and provided two samples over the legal limit.

A 32-year-old Sarnia female was charged with Operation While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
