The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign wraps up on Christmas Eve, and the local agency is making one final push to reach its fundraising goal.
So far, the local community has helped raise just over $105,000 and another $35,000 is needed to make the target.
Lieutenant Brad Webster said all of the money stays in Sarnia-Lambton.
"It actually goes toward all of the programs that the Salvation Army runs year-round," said Webster. "It goes toward our rental and utility programs, our emergency medical, dental and eyeglasses, and that's just a few of our programs."
Residents can donate at five kettle locations around Sarnia, including Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart, Northgate Metro, Superstore, and Lambton Mall.
They're using tiptap machines for this year’s campaign as a way to promote contactless donations.
In 2019, the campaign surpassed the $139,000 goal, raising $164,745.
You can also drop off donations at the Salvation Army at 970 Confederation Street.
