Close to 900 stuffed toys were tossed out car windows at the drive-by Sarnia Kinsmen Santa Claus parade Saturday at Lambton College.
Lambton Ford President and General Manager Rob Ravensberg said 895 toys were collected in the modified 2020 Teddy Bear Toss.
Along with donations dropped off at the dealership and Toys R' Us, that brings this year's total so far to 1,195, down significantly from last year's total of 4,159. The annual Sarnia Sting Teddy Bear Toss game at Progressive Auto Sales Arena could not be held this year when the pandemic shut down the Ontario Hockey League.
The toys will be distributed to 11 local organizations to help them fill their Christmas wish lists.
Over 23 years, more than 68,000 stuffed toys have been collected for local charities.
Donations are still being accepted this week at Lambton Ford and Toys R' Us at Lambton Mall.
