Months after a 34-year-old Wyoming woman was struck and killed while cycling to raise money for childhood cancer, police have now charged the driver.
The Ontario Provincial Police announced on Thursday that 38-year-old Melissa Miller of St. Clair Township has been charged with dangerous driving causing death in connection with the August collision that claimed the life of Lori Neville.
Emergency crews responded at around 10 a.m. on August 22, after Neville was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Petrolia Line between Telfer Road and Waterworks Road in St. Clair Township. Police said she was rushed to Bluewater Health where she was pronounced dead.
Neville was riding her bicycle at the time as part of the Riding to Fight Kids’ Cancer charity fundraiser. She leaves behind a wife and son.
Miller is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on January 11, 2021.
